The company SENG HUAT CANVAS STORE, (then change to Seng Huat Canvas Trading) started out with one (1) high frequency machine, one (1) sewing machine and four (4) employees. As years goes by, the company expanded its operations due to demand of its products line. With the incoming expansion, the employees had been increase from 4 to 24 persons and additional ones due to existing contracts with two agencies which can provide additional workforce in one day notice. |
The second expansion is the establishment of steel iron works. Such steel works proved to be quite viable, and we had become one of the cheapest manufacturers of quality tents, and one of the most practical. Price computations are done from one hour to a maximum of 5 days. We prioritize customer satisfaction in terms of workmanship, time limit and price. We had also established a rental position in the market, a three (3) day notice is provided.
As business worldwide began to slump down, the company went with the trend of importing products from China. Time and again, these items proved to be of poor quality, thus, whatever improvements need be done to protect our motto of quality first, customer’s satisfaction, the company did, while still maintaining its competitive price.
The company at first advertised in the yellow pages directory, which at the beginning is helpful, but afterwards, we found out the huge expenses involved, thus we cut down on advertisement, without loss of sales. This is possible thru word of mouth, thru referrals and listing in the internet.
The company sales is almost uniform for the 12 months period, and is always given a chance to contribute its expertise for the success of special occasions, like Jamboree at Subic, the Pope visitation, the airport at General Santos which was done by us inaugurated by President Ramos, the setting up and contractor at the Fort during the Christmas season, the overall repair of the 1st clampshell at Intramurous “Wow, Philippines, the complete renovation of the PPA South Harbour, the overall supplier of tents organized by Cavite Church, and now, the supplier of Parabolic tents of the leading food chain.We were a present tapped as the supplier of the tents for Hanjie Electric for the duration of their existing projects in Subic, as well as supplier of EEI in their projects here and abroad.
Seng Huat Canvas started by being a trader of nylon tarpaulin, and fabricator of such items for the protection of barge, trucks, and open warehouses. It also became a dealer of polysack, a replacement of tarpaulin, which is much cheaper. This can be served as a substitute however, only for temporary use.

Later on, it diversified its products lines to include seaming of plastic items on a per order basis. Then, it became the fabricator of rainwear, and was offered a dealership of rainboots which go hand in hand with the new items.

As time goes by, the company entered into the tent business, being the pioneer maker of tents for all saints day.
